Activated calcium carbonate is calcium carbonate powder after modification and activation treatment on the surface of inorganic powder by using multifunctional surfactant and composite high-efficiency processing aid. The surface forms a special cladding structure, which can significantly improve the plastic , the dispersibility and affinity in the high polymer matrix during rubber processing, and can produce interfacial interaction with the high polymer matrix, thereby improving the impact strength of the product. It is an excellent incremental filling additive.
Hydrophobic
The surface of activated calcium carbonate is coated with an organic active agent, which has strong hydrophobicity and does not sink into the water. If all or most of the product sinks into the water and the water becomes turbid, it is an inactive product.
fluidity
Active calcium powder has fluidity similar to that of liquid, and the fluidity of inactive products is obviously poor.
dispersion
Due to the good fluidity of the active calcium product, the dispersibility is good, and it shows good compatibility and dispersibility with the base material during the application process. The penetrating ability of the particles is also strong, and the ordinary ones are not easy to disperse, which affects and limits the application range of the powder.
Particle size is different
Since the surfactant of the active calcium product reduces the surface energy of the particles, the agglomeration and binding force of the particles is weakened, and the particle size will be significantly reduced. The active calcium and the inactive calcium products can be clearly distinguished by the scanning electron microscope.
Different oil absorption values
The particles of the active calcium product are reduced, so that the void ratio between the particles is reduced, and the microscopic surface of the particles becomes smooth and flat. Therefore, when the oil absorption value of the product is tested, the active calcium product is lower than the inactive product.
Calcium carbonate content varies
The general organic active agent content in active calcium products is 1.0%-5.0%, so its calcium carbonate content is 1%-5% lower than that of inactive products. The smaller the particle size of the active calcium product (such as nano-calcium carbonate), the higher the surfactant content, the lower the calcium carbonate content.
